Dr Kay is a highly regarded Specialist Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and one of only 9 physiotherapists in Victoria with this clinical speciality.
To achieve the specialisation title, Dr Kay has undergone an extensive two year training program on top of regular physiotherapy studies, and then passed the relevant clinical examinations. This ensures Kay is highly skilled in complex sports and exercise conditions, and means that she practices at a high level worthy of the specialist title. This ensures that you are seeing one of the best sports physiotherapy practitioners in the game.
In attaining her Specialist title, Dr Kay has joined the elite ranks of sports and exercise physiotherapists in Australia, and globally. Kay’s standing as a Specialist and her varied and vast sports physiotherapy experience, showcases her special interested in complex injuries and conditions, ensuring that the rehabilitation exercises and plan you receive, is in line with the latest research and medical evidence.
Kay joins the Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy team in 2022, and has extensive experience as a sports physiotherapist in elite sports and clinically in sports medicine clinics.
Kay has worked as a sports physiotherapist internationally for Australian Women’s Basketball, WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) as a tour physiotherapist and was the first person to work with the Australian Women’s Water Polo Team from 1984-1991 including their historic 1986 World Championship win in Madrid.
Kay also has a degree in physiotherapy and a degree and masters in physical education and completed ongoing education in sports management, business, physiotherapy and sports medicine. Kay was also Medical Program Manager for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
