Tony Beecroft enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy, especially Sports Physiotherapy. He is the director of Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy, which he created in 2011, then known as Advantage Sports Medicine. He graduated from Melbourne University in 2004, then completed the Master of Sports Physiotherapy at Melbourne University in 2011, attaining the 'Highest Achieving Clinical Student' award. He was then granted the title of 'APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist'.
Tony Beecroft has a special interest in Hip & Groin, Shoulder, Knee & Ankle injuries, which are commonly seen on the sporting field. He has worked in private practice in Melbourne since 2004 and has been employed globally in the UK, Ireland and India in varying roles. During this time he was head sports physiotherapist for the Bhupathi Tennis Academy in India, working and travelling the globe on both the senior and junior tours. He is a consultant physiotherapist for Tennis Australia.
Subsequently, he has developed a special interest in both shoulder, lower limb injuries and biomechanics, and is ready to assist you with all your running, jumping and landing injuries. Tony also consults from all of the clinics. It is from the Blackburn clinic that Tony has been working in conjunction with some of Melbourne's finest surgeons in the post-operative rehabilitation of patients following Hip, Shoulder and Knee arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery. He has a particular interest in post hip arthroscopy physiotherapy rehabilitation, and has lectured on the topic to other physiotherapists and surgeons.
As a Sports Physiotherapist, it is his goal to get his patients back to what they want (and love) to do, as soon as possible- whether that be sports, work or hobbies. He also lectures for Sports Medicine Australia on the Sports Trainers Program. Outside of physiotherapy, Tony enjoys keeping fit with surfing, running, football and tennis. Tony completed his first marathon in a time of 3 hours and 52 minutes, and is still trying to work out which one to do next, but is focusing on his swimming and surfing at the moment.
