MSP provides sports physio to NIke futsal
10 Jun 2017 - Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy's Tony Beecroft had great privilege in providing Sports Physiotherapy services to Nike's 'No Turning Back' Futsal tournament at Essendon Airport. The surprise event comprised 6 teams, including the Australian national Futsal team, the Futsalroos, Victorian and New South Wales state champions, a mixed ex- Socceroos team including Mark Bresciano and Brett Emerton and 2 academy teams of up and coming gun footballers.
The futsal event was a surprise to Futsal fans, who were asked to meet a Federation square at 5pm, then bused to the 'secret location' at Essendon airport. The incredible setup had a DJ pump tunes all night, and a 40 piece orchestra helping out for the semi and grand finals to ensure an electric atmosphere. With a private jet as the backdrop, 4 Brazilian soccer stars being flown in by chopper to watch, and half the current Socceroo team ushered in to watch the final, the fans were handed a wonderful display of Fustal action and soccer stars.
Thankfully, there were nil serious injuries, which meant a successful night for Tony Beecroft. He thoroughly enjoyed his night, especially hearing how different the ex-socceroos found the smaller Futsal court and the difficulty with the speed of the game. The Fustalroos went on to win the grand final 10-0 against the much younger and inexperienced Syd ney street crew. Congratulations to everyone involved and many thanks to Nike for inviting the Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy team to provide sports physiotherapy services to the Futsal stars.
